Privacy policy
Privacy is the service, so it is also the standard we hold ourselves to. This policy explains the little data an enquiry involves, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
ScrubRep operates the website at scrubrep.com and provides content removal, de-indexing and reputation services described on it. For the personal data you choose to send us, ScrubRep is the data controller. You can reach us about any privacy matter at scrubrep@proton.me.
The data we collect
We collect only what you choose to send. When you use the contact form or email us, that means the email address you provide, any name or alias you give, and the content of your message, including any links or details you share about your case. We do not ask for, and you do not need to provide, identity documents to start. We collect no more than is needed to assess and carry out the work.
What we do not collect
The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies, does not run third-party tracking pixels, and does not build a profile of your browsing. We do not buy or enrich your data from data brokers. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with anyone for marketing, ever.
How your enquiry reaches us
The contact form is delivered through a third-party form service that forwards submissions to our inbox. That provider processes your submission only to transmit it to us, acting as a processor on our behalf. If you would rather not use the form, email us directly and the message stays between your mail provider and ours.
How we use your data
We use the information you send to assess your case, give you a realistic answer and a quote, and, if you go ahead, to carry out the removal work and keep you updated. Where carrying out the work requires it, we may submit requests on your behalf to publishers, search engines, archives, hosts or data-protection authorities, sharing only the specific details those requests need. The lawful bases we rely on are the steps taken at your request before and during a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running and securing the service.
Payments
Payment is in stablecoins. We do not collect or store card numbers or bank details, and we do not use a conventional payment processor. Settlement happens on a public ledger outside our control; we hold only what is needed to confirm that a quoted amount was paid.
How long we keep it
We keep case information only as long as needed to do the work and for a short period afterwards in case the content resurfaces and you need follow-up. After that it is deleted. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will do so unless we are required to keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Security
We keep the footprint of every case small on purpose, because the less data exists, the less there is to expose. Access to enquiries is limited to those carrying out the work, and we use encrypted email and storage. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but minimising what we hold is our strongest safeguard.
Your rights
Helping people exercise data-protection rights is what we do, so we take yours seriously. Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To exercise any of these, email scrubrep@proton.me. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
