The service we provide

ScrubRep helps individuals seek the removal, de-indexing, correction or suppression of online content and the exercise of data-protection rights, as described on this site. We act on your behalf in making requests to publishers, search engines, archives, hosts, databases and authorities. We are a specialist service, not a law firm, and engaging us does not create a lawyer-client relationship.

Lawful use only

We work only on content that is false, defamatory, unlawful, outdated or otherwise eligible for removal, correction or erasure under the law that applies to it. We do not remove, and will not accept instructions to remove, truthful information that is genuinely in the public interest, court or regulatory records you are required to keep visible, or content where the request would itself be unlawful. You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you have a legitimate basis for the removal you are seeking. We may decline or stop any case that falls outside this policy.

Assessment and quotes

The initial assessment is free and carries no obligation. Following it, we provide a fixed quote for the work described. That quote covers the specific scope set out in it. New pages, new copies or a wider scope that emerge later may require a separate quote, which we will agree with you before doing further work.

Payment

Payment is in stablecoins, as quoted. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, work begins once payment for the agreed scope is received. Prices are quoted per case; there are no subscriptions, retainers or recurring charges unless expressly stated. Because the work involves time and third-party action that begins once a case starts, fees are non-refundable except where we agree in writing that we did not perform the agreed work.

No guaranteed outcome

We do not and cannot guarantee that any specific item of content will be removed, de-indexed, corrected or suppressed. Outcomes depend on the content, where it is hosted, the law that applies, and the decisions of publishers, search engines, archives, databases and authorities who are outside our control. Our obligation is to carry out the agreed work diligently and in good faith, not to achieve a particular result. Any timeframes we give are estimates, not promises.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for giving us accurate and complete information, for having the right to request the removal you ask for, and for not using the service to conceal information you are legally obliged to disclose or to harm a legitimate third party. You agree to indemnify ScrubRep against claims arising from information you provided that was false or misleading, or from instructions that breached these terms.

Confidentiality

We keep your identity and case confidential and share case details with third parties only to the extent needed to carry out the agreed work, or where we are required to by law. We ask that you treat the methods and correspondence involved in your case as confidential too.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScrubRep is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the acts or decisions of any third party such as a publisher, search engine, archive or authority, or for content reappearing after removal through routes outside our control. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the case in question. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Information provided by ScrubRep, including on this website and during a case, is general information about the options that may exist. It is not legal advice and does not replace advice from a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. Where a case turns on a difficult legal question, we may recommend you take independent legal advice.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force for your case is the one published when you engage us. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
