Not everything can be removed. Lawful, accurate reporting in the public interest will sometimes stay online no matter how unfair it feels. Search suppression is the realistic answer in those cases: instead of deleting the page, you change what surrounds it, so the damaging result drops off the first page where it can no longer do much harm.
Why position is everything
The vast majority of clicks go to the first page of results, and most of those to the top few. A negative story on page two is seen by a tiny fraction of the people who would have found it at the top. Moving a result from position three to position fifteen does not erase it, but in practice it stops shaping how people see you.
How suppression works
